It is hard to believe Z-104 welcomed Carly Rae to Madison in March. What a different less than a year makes!

Carly Rae Jepsen has had quite an amazing year. I remember when the music director here tossed her single on my desk and said "here is another wanna be pop star." The single was Call Me Maybe. This was before he listened to the track of course. 

Carly Rae is exactly what pop music needed this year. Call Me Maybe is a perfect pop song. It is annoyingly catchy and simple. The best part is that Carly wrote the song! 

I don't think anyone expects her to top Call Me Maybe and I really hope that is not the hope. That song was blown beyond anything a fancy record executive could ever cook up in their brains.
Her new song THIS KISS is another fav. of mine. It is another one of those simple pop songs that you can't help but crank up and single along to. I hope it does well.

One of my favorite songs is one from her new album with Justin Bieber. It is so innocent and sweet. The song won my vote after seeing the two of them perform the song live in Milwaukee in October.
