We've all heard stories about it and been warned by our parents: Spring Break. School's out, the weather is getting warm, and the tasty beverages are nice and cold. Where did the idea of getting down around March or April come from?
Turns out, the ancient Greeks, 2000 years ago started the unofficial "Spring Break" party. Back then the celebration was called the "Anthestreria" fest where teenagers (alongside their parents) indulged in some heavy drinking to honor the god of wine, Dionysus.
